Club Bulletin # 180418: Sabre Workshop Weapons Maintenance Class Group Footwork CLF/White Eagle Junior Sabre

Hello Fencers!

  • On Saturday 28th April we will be running a sabre workshop for those interested in taking up or refining their knowlege of the weapon details are on our club website here: https://www.bwefencing.co.uk/courses/
  • Coach Martin Dale has very kindly agreed to take a class in armourer's skills, as requested by several of our fencers.  If you are interested, please let me know and I'll arrange a date and a venue.
  • The voluntary group footwork session on Wednesdays has proved popular and will continue.  It's a great way to warm-up in the modern style.
  • Last Saturday (14th April), our club and our Cabot Learning Federation affiliate put on a junior sabre event.  It was a great success and I was greatly impressed by the standard of fencing and sportsmanship displayed.  Everyone seemed to have fun and I had a fine time myself.  I've pasted the report of CLF coach, Nigel Cooley below my signature.

See you soon,
              John
